Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has had time to play around with GIMP 2.3.8 (unstable).
I was kinda curious if stability has been improved over the past few months and what all new features will the 2.4 release bring us.
Cheers,

I built and used 2.3.7 a while back and it seemed stable and nice enough, with some nice new features. Toasted that install since then to try the new Espresso installer though, so I haven't tried 2.3.8.

Last year The GIMP took litteraly FOREVER to load, now it loads very quickly.

Btw, would really appreciate a deb of 2.3.8 or 2.3.7 or something, if anybody has one. :) I know how to build, just try to avoid it. ;) Thanks!

I guess you could go here:

Works great on Dapper!

I just made this with it:

You will need the dev files for pygtk, glib, and gtk (off the top of my head), and oh yeah, make sure you install libxml-parser-perl. This is a partial, but as best as I could make it, list:

sudo apt-get install libart-2.0-dev libglib2.0-dev libgtk2.0-dev python2.4-dev python-gtk2-dev libxml-parser-perl python-gnome2-dev python-gnome2-desktop-dev libtiff4-dev

That should give you all you need for install...though like I said, not 100% on it. Good luck!

I have the debs for both 2.3.8 and 2.3.7 on my page (the live above). I don't reccomend 2.3.8 though because its not nearly as stable as 2.3.7
