You definitely have at least 1 issue going on here:
GRUB seems to think it is on sda1, which is incorrect.
A simple GRUB reinstall should fix the problem:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2#Reinstalling%20from%20LiveCD
Follow the first method and mount sda6 (the Ubuntu partition) and install GRUB to the MBR of sda.
