Hi folks,

What will be the reliable solution in re security and data loss prevention on cloud computing. There are many discussion and articles on Internet.

On Open Source are there unified web, data and email security solution that spans on-premise

Are there software on Open Source equivalent to;
Websense

There is MyDLP ( http://www.mydlp.org ) as an open source alternative to commercial DLP products.

I know it supports both web, mail protocols and it has several data identification features.

You should give it try. :)

Hi,

Thanks for your advice and link.

When time allows I'll try it. I have a virtual box for testing new software/project and already downloaded it. I suppose it works on VM.

Hi shelta,

Host - Ubuntu 1010 64bit
VirtualBox - Oracle

I have download "mydlp-appliance_stable_amd64.iso" sometime in Feb, 2011. Now I'm prepared to test it on a guest of above Virtual Machine. Please advise whether I download the correct image?

Furthermore I'm going to run Ubuntu 1010 (64 bit) as OS on a new guest created. Is there any problem? Or it would be better running mydlp on other OS.

TIA
