Shortly after upgrading to Karmic, I installed Unity on my laptop, just to try it out. I didn't care much for it, so I removed it with an apt-get purge and apt-get autoremove, but I'm not sure how to get my visual effects to go back to the way they were. In particular, I'm finding it really annoying (although I realize this is ridiculous) that Guake now appears out of the middle of the screen rather than rolling down from the top. When I go to the Visual Effects tab of Appearance Preferences, it says "Mutter isn't running, can't switch to other effects"...any idea what i need to do?
