Last edit 21/10/2010

Recently I started a thread looking for some entertainment to keep me busy on a long bus trip (See here for original thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1597535)) and it become apparent to me to find movies and other forms of entertainment that are available in this manner is not always just a quick Google away... So I have decided to make this thread and see how many links I can gather to make it easier for others to find some of the gems (many hidden) on the web...

Please feel free to add, comment, critizise constructively when applicable and most of all partake (I am sure some reviews would really add value).

I will be editing this OP often, adding, re-arranging as needed so check back here often to see the changes

FEATURE presentation:

Welcome to the Scene - Season 1 and 2 (http://www.technutopia.com/videos/thescene/)

Classic Series (Episodes 1-20)
NYU student Brian Sandro has a secret: he and his friends pirate hundreds of millions of dollars of illicit Hollywood movies in their spare time. They are revered, reviled, hunted and admired. No one knows who they are - at least, not as far as they know.

Season 2 follows the same recipe as the first but follows a complete new storyline and I would highly recommend this to any fellow geeks out there...

I NEED CATEGORIES (HELP!)

Unsorted stuff:

Internet Archive (http://www.archive.org/) - much more than just movies... if its old and tech you might find it here...
Sintel (http://www.sintel.org/) - A CGI animation made completely using free software, a MUST see!
Good copy, bad copy (http://www.goodcopybadcopy.net/) - A sobering look at the current state of copy right laws in the US.
Sita Sings the Blues (http://www.sitasingstheblues.com/) - Not sure really because I haven't watched it yet but earthpig had the following to say:

http://www.sitasingstheblues.com/

kinda artsy-fartsy, but i enjoyed it
Quantum Physics made Relatively Simple (http://bethe.cornell.edu/) - Well, I guess the title says it all ;)
Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs (http://groups.csail.mit.edu/mac/classes/6.001/abelson-sussman-lectures/) - Old but valuable (I hope, still need to go through them)
RIP: A remix manifesto (http://ripremix.com/) - Another look at the absurdity of copyright laws in the 21st century (Highly recommend watching!)
Elephants Dream (http://www.elephantsdream.org/) - Another CGI made with Blender
Big Buck Bunny (http://www.bigbuckbunny.org/) - Another CGI made with Blender
Public Domain Torrents (http://www.publicdomaintorrents.net/)
VODO (http://vodo.net/) - This looks VERY promising :D
MIT - OpenCourseWare (http://ocw.mit.edu/index.htm) - Students of the world, feast!

Couple of awesome links there guys... thanks!

I see I have two categories at the moment... Unsorted and General links...

LOL!

I guess they are interchangeable at the moment... will need a better sorting structure... any ideas?
