Hello everyone,

I am not quite sure this belongs here, yet is the closest category i have found.

My issue: i am developing a customization of ubuntu for my company, as we mirror ubuntu repositories it would be great that the distro's sources.list be configured for using our repos instead of ubuntu's official on install, without the need of me going PC by PC making such configuration myself... How could this be achieved? Is there documentation about it? I have only managed to find data on how to configure the sources.list after installation.

Best regards,

There used to be a nifty thing called apt-setup but i suspect it got left with debian. Try this though
http://www.howtoforge.com/generate_sources.list_with_source_o_matic
Replace the text you paste into it with the following (might want to replace the nz for us though in the urls)

velofille@apple:~$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list

Wishes,

what i am looking for is not a tool for correcting sources.list once installed the system, but a way of making the default sources.list to point to our own repos without need of editing them in any manner after the installation process. For short: i want to create an Ubuntu Installer disk that creates a sources.list with the following repositories:

http://10.0.0.32/ maverick main restricted universe multiverse
http://10.0.0.32/ maverick-updates main restricted universe multiverse
http://10.0.0.32/ maverick-security main restricted universe multiverse
Note that IP addresses are just an example and not the real ones...

Best regards,

Ahh , are you going to use the same list on several installers? you can easily remaster your own ubuntu install cd if needed (there are several tutorials about) - https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCDCustomization
This is sort of related but probably not helpful https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/CommandLine
