Hi all,

I see a lot of people upgrading from 10.04 to 10.1. Has anyone upgraded from 9.1 to 10.1. I am running 9.1 64 bit and would like to upgrade to 10.1. Has anyone upgraded to 10.1 and what are the problems you have encountered. It seems that there is a lot of problems associated with 10.1. Probably too early to upgrade!

What are the opinions out there?

Thanks in advance

I upgraded and then reverted back to 10.04. I was not, however, on 9.10. I did fresh 10.04 installs and ran them, then decided to upgrade. Wireless is horrible on 10.10 right now and one machine will not even connect but works perfectly (no proprietary driver needed) in 10.04.

Not to be rude in any way, but the distros are not 9.1 or 10.1. They are not numbers with decimals. The 9 denotes calendar year 2009 and the .10 denotes it was released in October of that year. Thus, 10.04 was released April 2010.

Good luck. Try out your wireless and video BEFORE you install 10.10. Those seem to be heavily problematic right now, particularly so for ATi from the posts I have seen.

Yeah, it seems like many people who upgraded their 10.04 to 10.10 have a lot of problems.
But actually, I upgraded my 10.04 to 10.10RC on 2010/10/5, and there is no problem.
Then I upgraded my 10.10RC to 10.10 on 2010/10/12, and there is also no problem.

Everything goes well for me.

Hope Helpful & Good Luck ! :)

I did a fresh install of 10.10 on one of my drives to see how it was, but opted to stick with 10.04 after trying unsuccessfully to get 10.10 to run my usual setup. I had issues with compiz/screenlets and some other graphical problems. Just wasn't worth the headache =)

9.10 to 10.04 clean installation 10.04 to 10.10 clean installation. 10.10 has been problem free for me.
