whats the best ubuntu info page? im looking for a good place to find updates, how-to's, cool new aps, and things like that... there are a bunch that i use for my phone like droid-life.com and would like something like this for ubunto but when searching i have found a bunch of stuff that has not been updated since 2009 and some as late as 2007?

The Ubuntu subforum "Tutorials & Tips", http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=100, has some good information; however, I use Google to search it. I use a Google search by entering
ubuntuforums "Tutorials & Tips" search_terms
in the Google search field.

If a Tutorial or Tip is outdated, it is moved to an archive folder call "Outdated Tutorials & Tips", http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=255.

We really should encourage the community to contribute to the wiki rather then tutorials and tips section.

Wiki is easier to maintain.

My experiences with the Ubuntu wiki has normally been below PAR... that said if maintained properly it can be such an awesome tool (several distro's have amazing wiki's)

I agree, but, as with other distros, it is community maintained, so again IMO we need the Ubuntu community to step up the Ubuntu wiki effort.

I think that is what bodhi.zazen was saying. I was being sarcastic when I asked how to find it. I knew where it was; however, it is not obvious that wiki.ubuntu.com is more than a project page for contributing to the project. When you finally figure out that it has content, you soon find there isn't much there.

Edit: I see bodhi.zazen beet me to it. I was trying to be very careful with the wording of my reply.

i guess what i meant was a blog where i can get to know more, nice and easy, about all things linux, without feeling overwhelmed by all the things i cant even fathom about the possibilities this system provides. you know: i come from a total windows background, so the idea that i set things for myself used to end with which background pic to pick. and last night i did something that revived my wireless. yay!!! you see, for me, it was already HUUUUGEEE. for you, probably, banal. so that is what i meant by "few technical details" :)

I know what you mean because I remember very clearly what it was like when I first got going with Linux, everything seemed so technical and over my head. It would be good to find more Linux blogs that don't blow people away with that sort of thing. If I run across something better I'll try to remember to post a link here.
