View Full Version : [ubuntu] Custom mouse pointers appear only in certain places

Really thought I'd find something on this but - nada.

Running 10.04 64-bit. After installing any custom mouse pointers the new pointers only appear when the pointer is in the main "body" of a window. When in the menu bar, title bar, and some other peripheral areas of the window the pointer changes back to the default. Custom pointers are not displayed at all on the desktop or in the panels. Very strange.

Ideas/suggestions are definitely appreciated.

If you are using compiz, you can follow the guide here.

It is a known bug with compiz.

+1. Annoying bug and this is the only workaround that I could find when I was looking. The problem is that the bug appears in Fedora 13, Gentoo and Arch (that I have tested), so it is a compiz or Gnome issue, not Ubuntu.
