Hi all,
Yesterday I installed 10.10 on my old laptop. After dealing with some wireless issues I've got it properly working. My plan is to put this laptop in my garage and use it for video/audio when i'm working in the garage.
I wanted to install the Netbook version but I kept getting the black screen. So I installed the desktop version.
Is there anyway to make the desktop version look like the netbook version? A theme or something equivalent. I followed the directions given here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuNetbookEdition/amd64 but that didn't do anything visually. All i'm looking for is a Ubuntu Netbook type interface.
I'm a complete noob to linux so I don't know the proper lingo yet.

Have you tried to logout, select the netbook interface under Session and log back in?

No I didn't even notice that! Thanks.
But now when I do log in using the Netbook version I get an error saying that: required drivers for unity not found.

EDIT:
After reading around it turns out that my laptop does not support 3D graphics and that's why I cannot run Ubuntu Netbook.
The laptop is a 6 year old Compaq R3000 with ATI Mobility 9600 64MB graphics.
