10.04 shrunken desktop icons

like the title says, icons for desktop items (mounted external drives etc.) have shrunken to a
ridiculously small size and the text has disappeared, don't know what caused this...icon size in
the file manager also shrank but I have since resized to normal, but desktop icons did not revert,
screen resolution is unchanged, have looked through every setting in preferences and admin,
can't find a way to revert, any ideas?

you don't say!! another thread where I answer myself, must be typing in invisible ink :P

dismounted the two remote drives (USB HDD, SD card) rebooted, remounted and the icons
are now normal,don't know why...thread marked solved and headed for the compost heap
