View Full Version : Ubuntu 10.10 hangs at the towards the end of installation .Help

when i boot the amd64 v10.10 disc i go thru the setup use the ext4 filesystem the toward the end of the installation bar about the last 7th of the way it just hangs der and does nothing. my laptop is a amd HP DV2000 , so can anyone help me please thanks

Do you mean that the 'Forward' button grays out?

Yep, cant go pass the page where it asks for name , computer name password ect

Make sure your username doesn't contain any Uppercase letters or symbols. e.g, try sikander instead of Sikander.

should i use the ext4 format or that new one?

New one? I only know about ext4 as the latest stable filesystem. You can use either ext3 or ext4. ext4 is the newer one and the better one, in my opinion. If you are curious about that, see this
