Netbook 1010 problem

I just did a fresh install of 1010 on my Acer Aspire one Netbook, installation went fine but when i plug my External hard drive in I cant find it. I can also not find the Home folder.
Where do I look to find my external Hard drive ?

Maybe u need to mount it manually ....
I need to know things about the External HDD :
1-What file system you run this hdd on ?
2-the output of this command in terminal --> "fdisk -l"

Why would I need to do that ?
With 9.10 all I had to do was plug in the usb

I seriously cant believe i did the update, i promised myself I wont do it till at least 2 months after 1010 was released because Ubuntu release their stuff way way to early, it should be called a test release !
