Hi
I have an Acer Aspire One AOA 110-Ab and created a boot usb stick with ubuntu-10.10-netbook-i386.iso
I inserted the stick and pressed F12 to show the boot order and selected the USB stick (which it had identified ok)
The screen then shows 'SYSLINK 3.86 2010-04-01 EBIOS Copyright (v) 1994-2010 H. Peter Anvin et Al'
This message stays on the screen and the netbook seems to be taking no action.
The light on the flash drive does flash for a few seconds then stops flashing
Hope you can help me get it installed
Thanks
Stephen

Try doing a free install onto your memory stick or booting another computer from your memory stick to see if the install to the stick has worked properly (hope that makes sense!). I've just installed this onto my first generation Acer Netbook (your model) and although it took a very long time because of the solid state hard drive it installed perfectly and I'm highly impressed with it. It makes the Netbook usable again!

Hi
thanks for your advice, but i have installed Jolicloud 1.0 on my Acer Aspire One. I am happy with it, and as you say , it brings the netbook back to life and usability.
