just installed 10.10 and all I get after booting and entering my password is the wallpaper, no top or bottom bars, nothing, just the mouse cursor and the wallpaper.
had to do "acpi=off" both to install and to get it to boot, not sure if that has anything to do with the problem or not.
any ideas??
