I "upgraded" to 10.10 on Thursday night but am having major problems booting into Kubuntu though other versions seems to work ok.
My first problem was that I got this message

but I've resolved that through other articles in the forum. However, that doesn't look as though it was the cause of the freezing.
What happens is that the "K" button doesn't work and there's a little thin white vertical strip which flickers to the right of the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. The mouse is responsive but absolutely nothing else happens.
Any ideas gratefully accepted !
