Hi,

I don't understand how i should install the driver for my:

VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV350 AP [Radeon 9600]
Display controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV350 AP [Radeon 9600] (Secondary)

I tried installing this driver:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/linux/Legacy/Pages/radeon_linux.aspx?type=2.4.1&product=2.4.1.3.12&lang=English

But it couldn't read or open it:

Help would be nice because i don't really understand computers :(

1. the community not supported or affiliated with AMD (it is write there at the end of the page)
2. you can try synaptic search with entering "radeon", you will get a list of stuff
3. if you still want to run this file, go to its properties>permission an give it a executable right, then double-click it

(sorry for my poor english)

Your ATI 9600 should work with the "out the box" driver that come pre-installed in ubuntu ! Mine works great ! you should not need The ATI drivers, I don't think the New Ati catalyst drivers support the 9600 series anyway !
