I have an Acer Aspire Revo running Ubuntu 10.10 which is divided in usage between an HTPC (connected to my LCD TV) and a torrent client. I have ssh and x11vnc set up so that I can add torrents from my laptop if the TV isn't on, or work / my phone if I'm out of the house.

Generally this is fine, however I've found that if I have to restart the PC whilst the TV isn't on, I won't be able to start the x11vnc server again (or even view my desktop on the TV) until I restart the PC with the TV turned on. Is there a way to set it up so my X desktop is started regardless of whether the TV is on or not?
