I've now upgraded three machines from 10.04 to 10.10, and they all share the same problem: resizing windows its next to impossible! I am finding it very difficult to place the mouse cursor at the exact point on the bottom right of any window to cause it to change to the resize cursor.

It is incredibly frustrating - is anyone else having this problem?

Totally agree. Resizing windows in 10.10 is extremely frustrating. Actually, I'm amazed that this hasn't been raised as a bug.

I've seen some defects raised, and the general response seems to be a hack:

Hold Alt + MiddleMouse near a corner to resize.

But yes, incredibly frustrating!!

Thanks for the alt/middle mouse tip. The problem needs a real fix but your workaround is a massive help. Thanks!

Yep, real pain and I don't remember an Ubuntu that it didn't happen in. It's a long term Gnome problem probably, but it doesn't effect all windows. For example Firefox is ok to resize but the terminal isn't. In the case where window borders are incredibly thin it becomes a problem. Some programs build in a decent window border and it doesn't seem to much of an issue but in general there's no best practice implemented.
