Can't enable different activity for each desktop

can anyone help me with this? I've gone to the system settings, I have Compiz config and Kubuntu, and I can't enable this in either.

Different activities are a feature of kwin, so cannot use them with Compiz. Why do you need different activities? If it is just for the different wallpapers, you can do that with Compiz and the wallpaper plugin. Otherwise, you will have to use kwin.
