View Full Version : [ubuntu] pulseaudio headdesk: 10.10 still having issues with firefox/flash

I've been with Ubuntu since 8.04. Previously I had horrible problems with pulseaudio and just decided to uninstall it and stick with ALSA. I've finally built a new machine, installed Maverick on it, and decided to give pulseaudio another try, not just for my server but my mythbuntu front ends.

It seems to be working very well, except Flash+Firefox seems to die off after many hours. "pkill -9 firefox; pkill -9 pulseaudio" consistently fixes the problem. Other sound sources like mplayer work fine while Firefox+Flash is silent.

I'm using Adobe Flash Player 10.
I'm using the onboard sound for my Asus M4A77TD motherboard.
The Sound Preferences "Applications" tab shows no applications running when Firefox+Flash is playing and silent.

If anyone could help me fix this, I'd love to diagnose and test to see if I could help myself and others. Thanks in advance!
