Odd Install Problems

I currently have a Toshiba Satelite L350 - my windows vista got removed via a virus a few weeks ago...

So i reset everything back to factory settings...

Now im attempting to install ubuntu but it seems to be playing up...

On the main options to install often some options are highlighted red...

Being a newbie to Ubuntu im not sure what it means...

also whenever i attempt to install it it will just load ( rotating loader circle) forever - i would have to hard shut down it to get anything to react...

any ideas what to do?..
