I am wondering what are the advantages of ext4 over ext3? Can't find the thread now but I remember reading on the forum's cafe where a few people claimed that ext4 is actually slower so they are sticking to ext3 (it is recent, maybe only a few weeks ago). Any thought?

Slower?? I've found it to be considerably faster. Been using ext4 for a good while and haven't encountered the issue listed in the disadvantages section.

Think of it like this: ext4 is the upgraded version of ext3... So even if you don't fully understand the difference, just go with the new ext4! I'm using it and have no issues with it. :)
