Hi
I'm new here, and kinda fresh linux user. Up to this moment I was using 10.04 polish remix of Ubuntu which worked fine on my PC. Unfortunately PC CPU died and since it was pretty old I got myself brand new notebook. After installing 10.04 on it I discovered that it didn't have drivers for network card. So I got myself a 10.10 Maverick 64-bit version which works just fine. There is just one problem which amazes me.
Everything works fine when I use "try new ubuntu without instaltion" option. I checked if everything was working, even Broadcom WiFi card was allright. So I decided to install. Problem is, that after instalation and rebooting GRUB won't load OS. I've seen threads like this here, but none of them mentioned my kind of problem. Basicly, I'm beeing asked for username and password, devil only knows for what. It ain't the user name I picked during the instalation. Fortunately I'm not that brain-dead.
Any ideas?

I'm using Toshiba Satellite L650-1GQ producer's code PSK1GE-00V00CPL
