The java Icetea pluggin is junk. I noticed problems with firefox loading java applications. I didn't realize Ubuntu was using it by default. I removed it and open java then installed sun java and its pluggin now Firefox runs great.

Yep. I tried to give it a chance once, but it's just not reliable.
