I've been looking around some themes and I've found a couple I like here http://art.gnome.org/themes/gdm_greeter, but I can't figure out how to re-skin the login screen. I've managed to change the back ground image using a program called Ubuntu-Tweek, but I'd like to completely re-skin, some of the threads I've read here marked as [Solved] say you can't do it in 9.10+ as Gnome has reduced their functionality.

Is this true? Does anyone know how to re-skin add/change themes in 10.04?

10.04 uses a new login manager that isn't compatible with the old themes.
It isn't that they reduced the functionality, it is just that themeing hasn't been implemented yet.

You can apparently use ubuntu tweak to change the background:

There is also this workaround, but I haven't tried it:

Yes I have used Ubuntu Tweek to change my background. Is there any information on when they going to implement these kinds of functionality? OR some kind of blog where they have information on what they are planning to implement and when?
