I have installed GNOME using
apt-get install ubuntu-desktop.
After this I have tried starting the desktop using "startx".
But it throws errors like "Fatal Server error". No screens found.
I would like to mention that I have been accessing the Ubuntu server remotely using Putty. So, I was wondering is it possible to access the desktop from putty after looking at the error thrown.
