I got Super Mario brothers. Any Street Fighter II alumni around? Sonic the Hedgehog perhaps?

UFO- Enemy Unknown (aka X-Com- UFO Defense or X-com- Enemy Unknow).

I'm still playing it, over 15 years after release ;)

I grew up on old school Nintendo - state of the art in 1992 - although I did have a fledgling romance with Space Invaders around 1989-1990....

Other than Mario Kart, and a couple of other racing games (can't remember the names), I didn't have much interest in arcade style games back then. Most of my time was spent playing computer games, such as...

Heretic,

and Hexen.

Frontier Elite II, Flashback, Another World Road Rash and the Shadow of the Beast series on Amiga.

Not sure if that was late 80's actually...

I loved Joust for the TRS-80 with the flying ostriches. Also Star Raider, yars Revenge, and Asteroids for Atari and Super Mario Brothers 3 for the NES. For DOS there was this wicked cool Star Trek game I found on a BBS years ago called Trek-N... just looked it up and found a link to it here (http://www.dosgamesonline.com/index/game/314/Star_Trek:_The_Nth_Iteration.html).

And who can forget the many Door games on the BBSes... my fave was Trade Wars 2002 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TradeWars_2002) which I still play from time to time on a few of the boards that still carry it.

Take care,

Sam

I liked seeing Heretic and Hexen make the list. ... I would have included Duke3d and Shadow Warrior. But they barley sneek into the 'early' 90's ...

but as far as console titles go.. Sonic the hedgehog is a personal favorite. Sonic and Knuckles. :)
all mario titles ..Especially the strange second one. ...
Zelda of course . a link to the past was a great game..

I'm a sucker for 90's everything right now though .. so yeah . haha

I like "Leisure Suit Larry Goes to Hollywood" and "Dune" on DOS.

Oh mean I can't believe I forgot about LSL. LSL: Land of the Lounge Lizards is still the one game I think I spent the most time on during my DOS days :) I remember hitting Fidonet trying to find how to get past certain levels.

My vote goes to Target Renegade, a great 2 player game that I spent hours and hours engrossed in. Also Sensible World of Soccer - still, in my opinion, the best football game ever!

Doom.

I got frustrated with Doom because you couldn't jump. When Duke 3D came out, and for the first time you could jump, fly, duck, and swim, I was pretty amazed.

Golden Axe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Axe_(series))
RoboCop (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RoboCop_(video_games))

EDIT: oh, TIM (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Incredible_Machine_(game)) is from the early 90's. =)

Not early 90's but still 90's, Goldeneye 007 on N64 was killer, and playing multiplayer with 3 other people was freaking awesome!

Since I can't just pick a specific one, I guess I'd just have to say the Space Quest and Quest for Glory series by Sierra were amazing. Really, they're the games that made me love adventure games so very much.

Edit: Also, Sierra kind of pioneered the whole "tons of cool crap in the game box" concept. In the Quest for Glory boxes alone, they came with fake adventure trade school correspondence guides, a big fat game manual, and occasionally a hint book. It makes me sad since including novelty items as part of a game's packaging is really kind of unheard-of anymore.

For me, it'd probably be Raptor: Call of the Shadows. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raptor:_Call_of_the_Shadows) Sunk hours and hours into that back in the day.

Really mid 90's but WarCraft 2 was legendary. Still better than WC3 imo.

Also: Jackal for Nintendo. Who doesn't love driving around in army jeep blowing stuff up?
