I have chosen to skip Maverick and continue running 10.04 LTS.

Even though I enjoy the stability that LTS brings, I enabled lucid-backports and lucid-proposed so that I don't inadvertently fall behind Maverick in terms of newer software.

Despite this, however, I have received no update notifications regarding newer Linux kernels. When I ran Karmic I received a new kernel regularly. With Lucid, it would seem I receive all updates except for kernels.

I was hoping to try the newer 2.6.35, but I don't want to compile it myself because I don't want to hose my system by accident

If you want 2.6.35 just install the maverick version from here

http://packages.ubuntu.com/maverick/linux-image

You didn't get a new kernel because only lucid and lucid-updates have images in them.

Are lucid and lucid-updates software sources I can add?
