Hey everyone!

I'm looking to test a screensaver to see if anyone else is having problems with compiz and electricsheep.

Specifically: (Electricsheep) Sits in upper left corner of screen when Compiz is enabled"

The screensaver is electricsheep, you can get it via the ubuntu software centre (just search for electricsheep) or the old school way:

sudo apt-get install electricsheep

Head into System > Preferences > Screensaver and set it to electricsheep and you should be g2g!

note: it may take a few minutes for it to download a sheep, if you are of the instant reward type(like me) simply run electricsheep from the terminal, and it will give you a status that it is downloading a sheep.

Once all that's done: if you're happy reply in this thread :)

If you're unhappy please report a bug here:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/electricsheep

The issue I'm specifically looking for comments on is here:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/electricsheep/+bug/151380

Thank you :)

Yeah we found out that the version in the repo's was quite old in the lead up to 10.04, it got updated and works brilliantly on 10.04 and 10.10 :D

I recently installed it a couple of weeks ago, at first it did nothing at all (black screen) but a couple of days later, everthing was perfect and I finally realize why Electric Sheep is so well regarded.

Yeah it does, the downloading the first dream is the slowest part :(

I recently posted that I preferred the BSOD screen saver but left electric sheep for a while
and it amazed me how cool it is so from now on I'll use it .:)

Is there a way to compile the source code to make it work as a visualization in RhythmBox?

Good question! You're probably best asking over here:

There is a lot of source code and builds available, I would be surprised if it didn't work !

hey thanks for the link to that forum I already checked there but there is not thread about it, so I posted to see if anyone knows if it is possible to use it as an audio visualization.:p

Whoa this is one beast screensaver! It works great, though it took a minute for the PC to recognize it.
