I installed the 9.1 version- Karmic koala on an older laptop,{for a friend with only dial- up) then I installed all the recom. software & security updates. Everything ok. Then I did the "upgrade" to 10.04 lucid lynx- I thought ok, but can't get wine to work, or the cd for Netzero so I can config a dial-up connection. I downloaded gnome's, modem manager, can't find it anywhere in the system. Now many things don't work, getting mulitiple error codes. Can I roll back and un-do the changes made today? Please help.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

No, one can not roll back a release. If you want 10.04, go for a fresh install of it:

The thing to do is to try a fix the installation.

Take things one step at a time - what is the biggest problem of the bugs you have, we can try and fix that - you may find that it is the major source of the rest of the issues.

Try and give us a clear picture of what is happening.
