View Full Version : [ubuntu] Windows 7 Can't Read Shared Extended Partition

October 12th, 2010, 01:45 AM

I used gparted to create an extended partition (10.10)that I have divided into Video, Music, Photos (all mounted, all NTFS) that I would like to share over a wireless network with my Windows 7 HTPC. I've installed Samba and tried to share it, but I can't get windows 7 to open any of the shared partitions. Win 7 can see it, but not open it.

1. Gone into Samba share and added partitions to share
2. Allowed access to everyone. Writable and visible
3. From Nautalus, highlighted extended partition, gone to properties, and shared all boxes.

What am I missing? Can I share without passwords?

Thanks, Mark
