My current laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1525 which is an okay laptop don't get me wrong (2ghz core 2 duo, Intel graphics, 2gb ram) but it weighs a tonne and it has a terrible battery life...

basically I want a portable notebook which I can tote round Uni lectures (say a screen size of between 12 and 14 inches)without breaking my back with a good battery life:)

I don't particularly want a netbook as I will be using it as my main computer and selling my Dell to fund it (partially)

So what do you think? I like the idea of an old Thinkpad:guitar:

PS: I'm not expecting HD video although I would like to watch streaming flash at 480p and I don't play games

Have you considered an Android Tablet?

Have you considered an Android Tablet?

It's a nice idea but I want to be able to take notes in lectures and typing on a tablet (most likely touchscreen) doesn't sound to appealing

If it ships to UK: http://www.system76.com/product_info.php?cPath=28&products_id=105

A bit over pricerange, but hopefully it helped a little.
