Hi all

Sorry for very little data here on this initial post, but I have just spent over an hour going through this post

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=6183681

and running all the terminal commands, on the problem laptop, and then typing them out on this one....only to then find the forum would not let me post...an my hours worth of typing was gone.

SO, this is a bit of a test post, to save me wasting another hour.

basic problem

Xubuntu 10.04 LTS
Compaq Presario 1694
Netgear MA401
it shows as eth0
Orinico driver version 0.15
Firmware Intersil1.3.4

the GUI network utility picks up the network and offers to connect to it, but offers WEP40/128-bit Key as an encryption method...but my network is WPA/PSK

If this post works, what else can I do, what other info do you need. This problem laptop can not be connected to the net to d/load any further drivers/packages as there is not wired interface.

If this does post I 'l post up whatever terminal outputs I can

Thanks

Neil
