View Full Version : [ubuntu] Trouble uninstalling Wine via Live CD

October 11th, 2010, 09:07 PM
I recently installed Ubuntu 10.04 and shortly thereafter installed wine to run a windows program I had been using (no .deb package available). After installing Wine, I restarted my machine and got a "black-screen of death" - bootup would run until the point where the ubuntu logo should have been presented but instead I got a black screen.
I'm able to run Ubuntu with a live CD, but I'm having trouble uninstalling wine. It doesn't show up in synaptic package manager, but I do see some of the wine files installed when I go to the hard-drive of my machine. Maybe this is a mounting issue or something? Not too sure.

I don't know if Wine is causing the black-screen, but I've tried all the other "nomodeset", etc solutions.
