10.10 and non open source downloads

Just install 10.10 on a 4 gig flash drive, I like it a lot. Is there one download I can do to add all the non open source programs such as Flash, adobe reader, and such?

If you set enough persistent data when you created the iso on USB you can install packages. However, by default some of those will not show up in Synaptic from the live iso unless you go to Synaptic > Settings > Repositories and check Community maintained... (universe) and Software restricted by copyright...(multiverse). Then you need to hit the Reload icon (curly arrow). I think ubuntu-restricted-extras was roughly 345 MB (just going from memory). And I am sure there is a default pdf viewer, although, not Acroread if you need that for something specific. Read the description of ubuntu-restricted-extras if you want to play DVDs.

Avoid doing system updates especially anything like linux kernels, because that boots from the fixed squashfs compressed file system before casper-rw (persistent data) is mounted.
