So I decided to do a fresh install of 10.10. Burned the cd, started installing it, and it freezes before it finishes copying the files. I've tried it twice, about to try one more time.

Edit: The last two times I didn't set up all the computer info while it was installing. I'm going to see if it mysteriously works if I do that this time.

As of this time it looks like it's about to freeze again. I'll mark this as solved if it works.

Edit2:aaaand it froze again. great. No errors, the mouse still moves, and if I click anything after my DVD-Rom drive stops operating the mouse turns to the loading circle thing.

Hi, let's hear some specifications for your machine.

Did you test the DVD with MD5?

I put the iso onto a USB drive and used that instead of the CD. After 2 straight up installer crashes (that's what the error messages told me they were anyway) I successfully installed it. Something to do with update downloading totally screwed it up this time(unrelated to my last problem).

Good, please mark the thread 'solved'.
