View Full Version : [wubi] Windows install creates a drive?

Hi people.

This is either a short yes, or a no hopefully with a bit of an explanation of what could be going on...

Does WUBI create a drive that can be seen from My Computer? It seems as though I have an extra drive - labelled "SmartMedia". I observed this shortly after installing Ubuntu 10.4 on my laptop.

No. Wubi creates a file, but windows cant see that as a drive. Smartmedia sounds like a SD card or something.

Wubi creates a Virtual Hard Disk. The folder is stored in C:/Ubuntu I think.

I have got many of those on my computer. Actually 4. They are even visible when the drives are empty.
