Maverick Install error message

I get this when I try to upgrade to Maverick from the update manager

Failed to fetch http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/maverick-proposed/Release

Is there any way to solve this problem?

Disable the maverick-proposed repo through software center.

I disables it and i still get the same message. I also get this message

Unable to find expected entry universedeb[ www.geekconnection.org]/binary-i386/Packages in Meta-index file (malformed Release file?)
