this new installer is garbage

i thought ubuntu was all about user friendlyness, this is why linux mint will overtake ubuntu very soon

partition hard disks scares the crap outta me, every time i click use entire partition it wipes out and says ubuntu will install int o a 167 gb partition, too bad i only have 23 gb free space unallocated for ubuntu

thats redicolous, if i let ubuntu do its thing it will split and delete my storage partition, and format windows

this is a huge regression and a lack of judgment on the devs part

i remember saying back when maverick was in beta that they would add this option back, guess they rushed for release once again

yes i know this a free os, but come on what a regression, use biggest available free space was the greatest idea.

lol look at this: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2010/06/p...y-intelligent/ (http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2010/06/proposed-ubuntu-10-10-installer-changes-will-make-installation-faster-friendly-intelligent/)

the only comments to the new instaler "wheres the use aviable free space option, this is a pain"

ubuntu devs, u f'ed up lol ubuntu has gone something anyone with half a brain can install, to something someoen needs to find a geek to install for them, once again

you are the one telling ubuntu to use the entire hard disk by clicking that option- it is only doing what the operator is commanding it to do. You know all software works in that manner. Instead of having an attitude maybe you can take ownership of the choice you are making and ask someone for help in a manner that will entice someone to reply.

If Mint is so good in your opinion then install that. But in case you didn't know it is based on ubuntu-DARN!
