Trouble getting opencv to run with python support

So I followed all the steps here...

whixh is basically the same steps as in the installation wiki.

The problem is that I can't find the cv.so file in /usr/local/lib/python2.6/site-packages ... the folder is empty.

How do I fix this?

with nautilus, search for this "cv.so", if you find it somewhere, then copy it where it should be in.
