I downloaded the Desktop version, I tried burning it with Nero, Magic ISO and standard windows burning of an ISO. I even unpacked the ISO and burned the files. One of my disks works INSIDE Windows. I started wubi and followed the instructions..it rebooted pc and went right to windows desktop. I even hit f12 and forced to boot from the cd...went to windows. I am obviously doing something wrong. I think my system is fine...2 gigs ram, Intel Pentium M processor 1.72 ghz. I bought a new HD and was forced on windows install to partition it......bios won't let it have a partition bigger than 120 gigs. That leaves me with a 40 gig ( nearly ) partition....which I formatted.

Check out the ISO burning howto (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto).
