I planned to use XP bootmanager for staring ubuntu, but somehow this time I have no luck with it. Some time ago, I used to take the XP bootmanager if just one linux was added, but now it looks like the grub2 does not like this procedure.
Or is there any tricks with current versions of ubuntu with grub2 installed in the root partition?

The boot menu comes up, strange when selected windows, next similar menu comes up and there also ubuntu can be selected, but nothing is happening then, just black screen.
(life CD works ok)

Is it possible to boot into the just installed ubuntu somehow using the life CD?
