View Full Version : [ubuntu] Can't boot at all (GRUB-related...)

Dear all,

First time poster, so pls bear with me.

I've installed Ubuntu 10.04.1 on a Dell Studio, dual-boot. Surely, I soon got the infamous "no module name found" error. And now neither Windows nor Ubuntu boots.

OK, so I basically understand from reading the threads that I need to boot from a CD, either the SuperGrubDisk or a complete Ubuntu installation CD.

The problem is that I cannot boot from a CD at all. I've tried both the SGD and the installation CD, but neither boots. I never get past the "no module found" error screen. And I cannot access Setup or Boot options. Pressing either key has no effect.

Any hints? I understand (now) that dual boots are not recommended, and I have no problem scrapping Windows.

But I don't seem to be able to even boot from a CD to do anything.

Best regards,
Mats
