Help please, I believe I didn't get it right!

Facts:
- Ubuntu Lynx10.04-amd64
- 4 work-spaces
- Compiz fusion rotating cube
I found the Ubuntu Tip HERE (http://ubuntuguide.net/different-wallpapers-on-each-workspace-in-ubuntu) and I tried it and it worked very well, exactly as described.

BUT I wonder what's the point! The work-spaces are covered with my beautiful wallpapers but I can't use the work-space anymore. All my shortcuts and files I used to have accessible are gone. In my opinion it's a pretty useless feature or didn't I get it right? Is it intended to work that way or did I make a mistake?

Thanks in advance for any thought on that!

You did it right, the nautilus desktop becomes useless as you've disabled it. You still have all your files and shortcuts available through the nautilus browser (Places>Desktop).

OK, I got it!

if I want different wallpapers I just have to change some old habits...
which is a good thing anyway...! Case closed!
Thanks
