Okay, here's my situation.
1. My CD drive doesn't work at all.
2. I installed OpenSuse 11.3 from my USB drive but I'm not a huge fan of it, so I decided to try to install Kubuntu instead.
3. I downloaded the Kubuntu 32-bit ISO image and put it on the thumb drive with
dd if=/path/to/iso/ of=/dev/sdX bs=4M;sync
The problem is that the image that it writes isn't bootable at all. I've tried Ubuntu and I get the same thing.
Any help on how to create a bootable Kubuntu/Ubuntu USB live install?
