Hi,
I should preface this by saying that I am an absolutely raw beginner to linux and ubuntu. You will need to walk me through any solutions in detail.

I'm trying to install ubuntu in a virtualbox in Windows 7, following the directions on these two sites:
http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/virtualbox
http://www.wikihow.com/Install-Ubuntu-on-VirtualBox

I seem to be able to get the Virtual box set up okay, but my problem is that when I get to the point that Ubuntu itself actually begins the install within the box, the Ubuntu logo shows for a moment, then installation stops with the following output displayed:

BusyBox v1.13.3 (ubuntu 1:1.13.3-1ubuntu11) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

(initramfs) Can not mount /dev/loop0 (/cdrom/casper/filesystem.squashfs) on //filesystem.squashfs

Does anybody know what this means? What do I need to do to get ubuntu installed properly within the virtual box?

thanks!

Are you installing from CD-ROM? Did you download Ubuntu imgae? If so did you check the MD5SUM of the downloaded image?

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM

Also check the disc for defects. There is an option on the first menu where you choose "Try Ubuntu without making any changes".

Thank you! I re-downloaded the iso and it installed properly!
