So recently someone bought me a Ubuntu coffee mug. and its quite awesome, however while drinking I couldn't stop thinking about the forums "cups of Ubuntu" system based on the amount of posts you have made.

Because of this I've decided to make at least one post on the forums for every cup of coffee I drink out of it, and most likely develop an OCD habit out of doing so :D

Great idea if you can actually help with each post.

I'm guilty of spending too much time in the cafe myself.

Over this last year I have almost solely been in the Cafe. ;( I only made it to 3500 from 3000 I think.

My cup of coffee is half full or is it half empty? 99% of my time is here. No problem or any issue to post and not expert enough to help.

I think cafe posts should earn beans too. Then we'll all be able to have millions of beans without having to post problems or help other users!

Or there should be another entry e.g, Total Posts and the equation will look like,

Total Posts = Beans + Cafe Posts

In your case

Beans:2,047

Total Posts:1,02,047

Sweet! I bought a Linux mug from Linux.org years ago and used to use it daily, but now it just sits on my desk holding pens. I've seriously been meaning to start using it again since I'm putting 3-4 styrofoam cups into the landfill each day.

But I too love The Community Cafe, and it's one of the 3 or 4 forums I check daily if not several times a day. Great group of people.

New maths?

My ability to help other people is limited by my understanding of "newspeak".

New maths?

I'm weak at the old one so I invent my own whenever needed :)

Ode to Coffee

O! coffee, where art thou
When I need thee now?
In thy many flavoured blends
A hot cup would be g*dsend.
I cannot keep awake
Without a short coffee-break.
With thy life-giving aroma
Save me from going into a coma.
Java, Colombian or French Roast
Thy every flavour, I will toast.
To the end thy loyal slave
Three cups a day I will always crave.

The problem is that people racing for forum beans reply to posts in the support forums like this:

---Imaginary original post----
Hello everyone, anyone can help me with this and that...?
---End original post---

---Imaginary reply post ---
hmmm.. I really dont know anything about that... but... search google
---End reply post ---

Click! one more bean, one useless answer.

Regards.

Felipe.

True. I try not to do that myself if possible. I do not like leaving people unanswered though.

@samalex: I lurrrve your avatar! The TRS-80 was, I think, the first computer I ever used: it's a toss-up between that and the Sinclair ZX-81; and the TRS-80 was way cooler (whoever made up the nickname "Trash-80" was an evil Commodore user who will languish in microcomputer hell with only a ZX-81 to play with for all eternity, grrr!)

But did you ever see this:

The original netbook anyone?

Thats true, however theres also a lot of

---Imaginary original post----
Hello everyone, i r new, wud be linux???
---End original post---

where a 'search google' response would be appropriate.
