Good morning all,

I've been testing Ubuntu 10.10 as it progressed through
beta and now RC. On another machine, I've got the
October 6 daily build going. But throughout the cycle,
I've observed a curious behavior and wonder if anyone
else has experienced the same.

Install is completed, system is updated and nvidia driver
is installed. After this point, if I log out and log back in
(as opposed to a reboot), the desktop appearance has
changed. Now the menu and top panel are a completely
different set of icons. Windows when opened remain consistent
with the correct theme, but the appearance at the top
is completely different.

If I open up the appearances dialog, and change the theme,
only windows are changed and not the menu/top taskbar
stuff.

Curious!

I'm not sure we have the same problem but this thread http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9969103 contains a solution to a problem I had with the appearance after installing 10.10.
