Installation situation..help!

Hi guys, before i start i would like to let you know i have spent an hour and a half searching the forums and have not been ablre to find anything specifically related to my problem.

In shor i need to install ubuntu to a connected slave drive with the intent of putting the slave as a master in another computer.

would this work? i know this doesnt in windows as it writes the boot files to the master drive so i thought i would try linux.

in the advanced partitioning screen during installation, there are options of where to put the bootloader. Just choose the second drive. Then you should be able to put it in the other pc
